Muchamiel is a town of the province of Alicante
located next to San Juan and 5 kilometres from the Mediterranean. Its municipal
area covers 47.7 square kilometres and has a population of 15,558 inhabitants.
Attractions
Alicante, Spain with its beautiful boulevard and pleasant shopping street is
one of the most well known towns on the Costa Blanca. The coast of Alicante
and the Costa Blanca owes its name to the beaches stretching for several kilometres
and attracts many sun worshippers and pleasure seekers
El Campello is a 5 minute car ride which
will cost around 7 to 10 euros by taxi. El Campello has a coastline of more
than 20 km with all kinds of beaches, from Muchavista –next to San Juan
in Alicante, a very popular beach- to the small rocky coves of Barranco de Agues
or Cala Del Cuartel.
San Juan has the largest beach in Alicante
and lined with restaurants and bars, only a 5-minute car ride from your villa
in Muchamiel and only a short distance from the capital.
Benidorm is a 20-minute car ride and will
cost around 30 to 40 Euros by taxi. Located about 45 km northeast of Alicante,
despite its skyscraper skyline, it stands for beach and nightlife. Lots of Benidorm
nightlife. Surrounded by up to 1558 m high mountains, Benidorm is perfectly
protected against the sometimes-cold north winds. Therefore, the weather in
Benidorm stays very mild even through winter times.
Other beaches you can enjoy are Judios Cove, Palmeras Cove from here you will
find a wide range of services and facilities including commercial areas, banks,
magnificent medical installations, supermarkets, shops, and a large variety
of restaurants and bars where you can taste typical Mediterranean cuisine.
Terra Mitica, Theme Park

Caves
The Candelabra Caves (Cuevas Del Canalobre) in the Alicante province of the
Costa Blanca is a single huge chamber 150 metres long, 630 metres above sea
level, and containing many dripstones, some of them looking like a candelabra,
giving the cave its name. The rock is calciferous limestone, and was formed
during the Jurassic period between 135 and 200 million years ago.
The Costa Blanca offers much more than the familiar beaches and tourist resorts,
there are so many beautiful places to visit, away from the bustle of the coast
- making a car excursion well worthwhile.

Chemists
All chemists (Farmacaias) display a large green cross outside. They are open normal shop hours usually 09.30 to 13.30 and 17.00 to 21.00. There is an emergency chemist on duty in each town outside these hours.
Banks
Open from 09.30 to 14.00 Monday to Friday. They charge a transaction fee for any exchange of money, which can work out expensive on smaller amounts.
Petrol
Sold as super (Leaded), sin plomo 95 and 98 (Lead free) and Gasoil (Diesel). Most service stations are open from 07.00 to 23.00, although there are some, which open 24hrs a day.
Electricity
The voltage in Spain is 220v and all sockets are two pin.

Cheap rates are Monday to Saturday between 20.00 and 8.00 and all day Sunday
and bank holiday
